S0213. It was still dark when I woke and began my next work day. Off the highway, the roads were still largely empty but for other truckers like myself. This fellow dipped his lights in greeting, a sort of Good Morning!

Oh yes, i see what you mean. I've seen bus drivers do that since they a work for the same organization and live in the same city.

Yes, but as I said in my country they use that as saying hello (the drivers that know each other, from the same company etc)

Generally flashing headlights to oncoming traffic is not commonly for "hello" here, it's more "speed trap ahead!"

That's interesting, I haven't heard of it.. I only know the light blink that REALKRAFTER is talking about, In my country the truckers and even bus drivers are using it to say hello to each other, it's a pretty small country so you get to see that a lot.

Yes, thats the same in a lot of places. But here the driver left his headlights on, just shut off the marker lights on the trailer. I've seen that myself many times.

You know in Russia blink distant light not only welcome, but usually that would warn of standing in ambush traffic police post or unmarked radar video registrator. After all, the highway almost all come with excessive speed)
